International Teaching Assistant Program (ITA)
The International Teaching Assistant Program (ITA), which is part of Rutgers University’s longstanding commitment to global engagement in higher education, supports the academic, cultural, and professional development of the Rutgers University global community of international teaching assistants. The program administers the VEPT evaluation which is a Rutgers university requirement for all ITAS who have been awarded a teaching assistantship and who are speakers of English as an additional language. The program also provides a wide range of academic support ranging from a detailed assessment of needs, ITA-specific instruction, to academic advising, and professional development workshops. The ITA program draws on the extensive global expertise of its faculty, staff, and university partners as well as an important network of English language resources across Rutgers.
