The Peer Mentorship Observation Group is a voluntary group within the Writing Program—open to all instructors— that aims to provide professional development opportunities in a supportive, collaborative environment. We facilitate pedagogical discussions through two main activities: regular group reading/pedagogy conversations and peer mentorship pairings.
PMOG co-organizing group: Mihaela Caponegro, Elizabeth Decker, Julie Flynn, Debra Keates, Erin Kelly, Elif Sendur, Jennie Snow, and Shelby Wardlaw.
Our upcoming meeting on Sept 24 will be a discussion of Ann Jurecic's "Teaching Post Truth," which will let us reflect on the present moment and get to know a bit about our incoming Director. After our reading discussion, we will break out to discuss our teaching goals for the semester, which will serve as a springboard to begin forging peer mentorship pairs. (You are still welcome to find a peer mentor even if you can't make the meeting—we will circulate the interest form on our Canvas site.)
