About Our Writing Centers
The Writing Centers provide tutoring for students enrolled in Writing Program classes. There are three Writing Centers: the Livingston Writing Center, located in the B-wing of Lucy Stone Hall; the Douglass/Cook Writing Center, located at 135 George Street; and the Plangere Writing Center, located on the third floor of Murray Hall. Only the Plangere Writing Center is open during the summer months. Tutoring sessions are scheduled for one eighty-minute class period per week for at least five weeks, and are available free of charge. Students are tutored in the full range of expository writing, from basic composition to advanced research, business, and scientific writing courses. The Writing Centers offer morning, afternoon, and evening sessions to ensure access for University College and other working students.

FALL 2013 INTERNSHIP - 01:355:396:02, index 33239: The tutoring internship on Livingston is designed as a learning experience. Students will receive three credits and a grade, based on an evaluation of their performance and a reflective research paper. The internship can only be taken for one semester; it is is unpaid and limited to 30 interns. In Fall 2013, we will focus on ESL issues, as our ESL population is growing at a tremendous rate. Interns will tutor one ESL student a week, as well as work on developing research, resources, and protocol for dealing with students with a very limited knowledge of English. If you are intersted, please fill out the following webform to apply for a special permission number: http://bit.ly/10k19SI.
