Things That Work: Presenting New AssignmentsMission Impossible: Reading Difficult Assignments On the day you hand out assignment questions, split the class into groups of three or four students. Give each group the mission - should they choose to accept it or not - of decoding the assignment, in effect rewriting it in their own words without altering its meanings, intentions, or goals. Again, this exercise can be made into a fun contest, with the class voting on which group has come the closest to fulfilling the mission, and saving the world. -- Brian Roberts
