Grading Criteria for 099
Though 099 functions as an integral part of the 100 component of the course, students are evaluated for a separate grade. This grade is for their 1.5 "E" credits, and it is Pass or Fail.

  • All 099 work is graded Pass/Fail. This includes in-class work, homework, quizzes, and final exam.
  • At the end of the semester, 60% of the in-class work, homework, and quizzes must be passing.
  • In addition, the student must pass the final 099 exam to pass 099.
  • "Passing" work requires that at least 50-60% of the student's response is either correct or is a plausible response to the question about the reading, depending upon the question asked.
