If you are now enrolled in Composition Skills, 355:098, you must
register for any "R"section of 355:100. When registering for any "R" section
of 355:100 you will automatically be registered for 355:099 which is a
component of the 100 course. You will notice the class meets three days
a week and one of those days will be your Reading for English 100 class,
355:099. You must take and pass both 355:100 ("R" section)
and 355:099 in order to register for the next writing course.
If you are now enrolled in Basic Composition, 355:100 or 355:100
"R" section you must register for Expository Writing I, 355:101.
If you are now enrolled in Expository Writing I, 355:101 please
see the information below.
If you are a COOK COLLEGE student who is now enrolled in 101 or
103, your college requires you to take 6 credits in writing and
this information can be found in the Dean’s office. Research in the Disciplines,
355:201 has replaced Expository Writing II, 355:102. Other equivalent
courses available are Scientific & Technical Writing, 355:302 or Writing
for Business & Professions, 355:303.
If you are a SCHOOL OF ENGINEERING student who is now enrolled
in 101, your college requires you only to take Expository Writing
I, 355:101 to satisfy your English requirement.
If you are a DOUGLASS COLLEGE student who entered Douglass
College prior to Fall 2000 and who is now enrolled in 101, your college
requires you only to take Expository Writing I, 355:101 to satisfy
your English requirement. HOWEVER, if you entered Douglass College
in Fall 2000 or later, your college requires you to take an
additional intensive writing course. See the Douglass

If you are a LIVINGSTON COLLEGE student who is now enrolled in
101, your college requires you to take an equivalent "level-three"
writing course and this information can be found in the Dean’s office.
Research in the Disciplines, 355:201 has replaced Expository Writing II,
355:102.
If you are a MASON GROSS SCHOOL OF THE ARTS student (VISUAL
ARTS MAJOR ONLY) who is now enrolled in 101, your college requires
you to take Research in the Disciplines, 355:201 which has replaced Expository
Writing II, 355:102. Other equivalent courses available are Scientific
& Technical Writing, 355:302 or Writing for Business & Professions, 355:303.
If you are a Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy student who is now enrolled in
101, your college requires you to take Research in the Disciplines,
355:201 which has replaced Expository Writing II, 355:102. Other equivalent
courses available are Scientific & Technical Writing, 355:302 or Writing
for Business & Professions, 355:303.
If you are a RUTGERS COLLEGE student who is now enrolled in 101,
your college requires you to take a second writing course such
as Research in the Disciplines, 355:201. This course has replaced Expository
Writing II, 355:102. Other equivalent courses available are Scientific
& Technical Writing, 355:302 or Writing for Business & Professions, 355:303.
The Writing Skills Course list, at the Dean’s office, provides other courses
as well.
If you are a UNIVERSITY COLLEGE student who is now enrolled in
101, your college requires you to take Research in the Disciplines,
355:201 which has replaced Expository Writing II, 355:102. Other equivalent
courses available are Scientific & Technical Writing, 355:302 or Writing
for Business & Professions, 355:303.
If you are a student enrolled in one of the other colleges be sure to
consult your Dean regarding your English requirement.
Reminder: There are several sections that meet at the same time in
the same building. Be sure to verify with the instructor that you are
attending the correct class and that you appear on that roster.
