New Option for Students who Received the TF Grade in 355:102 or 355:201

If you received a TF in 355:102 or 355:201 last semester, this grade signifies that you are "one draft away" from successfully completing the course. In order to assist you in completing the course successfully, we are offering you the opportunity to meet with a tutor and complete your paper.

To take advantage of this option you will need to register this semester for 355:096, "Writing Center Tutorial." 096 will offer you the following assistance in re-drafting your final paper:

  • You will have the chance to meet individually with an experienced tutor to discuss strategies for revising and improving your most recent draft.

  • You will be given a three-week grace period to meet with your tutor and to complete your revision.

  • When you have completed your revision, your final draft will be assessed by your tutor and you will be assigned a final grade for your research writing course.

If you decide to take the 096 "Writing Center Tutorial" option, you should contact either the Livingston College Writing Center's Coordinator, Anthony Lioi (445-4048, lioi@rci.rutgers.edu), or the Plangere Writing Center Coordinator, Ken Urban (932-8176, ken.urban@rutgers.edu). Please contact either Writing Center Coordinator by the second week of class to express your interest in this option.

Please note, electing to pursue this option does not guarantee that you will pass the course. Rather, this option is meant to provide you with additional support and encouragement to guide you through the completion of your final draft. If, after you've received this support, your paper is deemed unsatisfactory, your TF will be changed to an F and you will have to repeat the course.
