What is a Gradatorium?
In 301, we believe that you should be fully informed about why your paper received the grade it did because that knowledge will help you to focus your writing and revision and ultimately will help you to get better grades. Therefore, this section of our website is devoted to publishing our grading criteria and explaining why we use these standards to evaluate your papers.
In addition, you'll be able to read selections from sample research papers that earned C, B, and A grades. These are followed by explanations from teachers about why they would give these grades. If you would like to read these research papers in their complete form, they are available, too. These models will be especially helpful to those of you who are finding the kind of writing you do in 301 a bit unfamiliar. If you read these samples and the grading standards, you'll not only see what makes a 301 paper successful, you'll be able to apply this understanding to your own projects. Let's begin with the grading criteria.
